Aloha Ohana!
My Week:
- IJump for P-Day was so much fun. I was teaching Sister Mafi how to do back flips but she was struggling and couldn't get over her fear of going backwards. We'll get it next time!
-Dakota is getting baptized on Saturday! She is 18 and couldn't be baptized because her father wouldn't allow it but now she can choose for herself. She's going to have so many less-active and non-member friends and family there. It's going to be a great opportunity to teach and share the gospel. She is an awesome example to her family and is striving to go to the temple right after she is baptized.
-We have a new investigator on campus. Her name is Raina and she's super cool! Born and raised in Idaho Falls and is at BYUI because her best friend (LDS) is at school there. We've only had one lesson but she has committed to read the Book of Mormon and pray about its truthfulness. She has so much love and support from her friends and roomates. Can't wait to see where it goes.
-We are teaching a 70 year old or so man who is Lutheran. We showed him a video that made him really understand why we must be baptized by immersion. He is nervous about going under water. He calls it the "drowning ceremony" hahaha. We assured him that he would not drown, but would be drowned by Heavenly father's love. He is close to setting a date!
-We spoke in sacrament yesterday. I was given the topic of testimonies. I used references from Ballard's talk "Pure Testimonies". I learned, through preparing this talk, that when we are true disciples of Jesus Christ, we will always want to bear our testimonies. We won't want to keep it from Heavenly Father's children. A testimony is knowledge of the doctrines of the restored gospel, the Savior's atonement, and our loving Heavenly Father's plan of Happiness. I challenge all to share their testimony with someone somehow this season. Just a quick status update, or a conversation with a friend. Holland promises that if we seek the Lord's guidance, it will not be forced or awkward. I've surely learned that! Make this your gift to Heavenly Father this Christmas season, it's the least we can do.
-We went to a fireside at the Idaho Falls Temple Visitors Center last night. We took Dakota, So, and Dakota's Aunt. The videos and lessons that were taught made me reflect on what I truly want in this life. FAMILY. ETERNAL FAMILIES. It's the only thing the Lord want for us now and is why we are here on this Earth. I love you guys and I wouldn't ever want to be separated from you. I know that I never will!
I want to leave you with my testimony. This Lord's church has been restored to its original form. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only church that is organized exactly the way Jesus Christ organized it when he was on the earth. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It teaches us about the Lord's commandments and how we can be with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for eternity. The plan of happiness is real. Heavenly Father wouldn't have it any other way. The Savior lived and died for me, and only through this sacrifice can I be resurrected and receive eternal life through the remission of my sins. Heavenly Father is my father, and he wants me to come home. I know that through the saving ordinances of repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring the End, I will make it home.
Peace and Blessing,
Sister Fredrick
