SUMMER = SUCCESS

So as a sister training leader, we go on 24 hour exchanges with all the sisters we cover. We cover 5 sets. Each transfer, or 6 weeks, we have to go on at least one exchange with each sister. SO this week I went to a different area to serve with Sister Prince and Sister Jacobson stayed here to serve with Sister Towers. I learned a lot from Sister Prince and was able to help her with her confidence (talked about more below). What's funny though is that the house they live in is a bishop whose daughter trained Sam Stanley in Arizona! We took a picture and sent it to Sam's mom. It was so funny. What a small world!

We were able to teach 24 lessons this week. We are seeing so many miracles. It's hard knowing that, at the moment, we do not have anyone lined up to be baptized, but as we work hard and be obedient, the Lord will help us find those who are ready to receive the gospel. There are people in the works for sure.

I love it out here. I love the weather now. It's been short-sleeve weather and we've been walking all across town. What's awesome about ISU and YSA is that we get to do FHE Monday nights with out investigators. Tonight we're going to a bbq at a bishop's house with one ward, relay races with another ward, then soccer and frisbee with another. It's so much fun and we see fruits from it! Nothing like sports and missionary worked combined....now that's my kind of proselyting!

I love you all and am excited for the future. SUMMER=SUCCESS.

Email to president:

President,

This was a beautiful week for work and weather! On Saturday we had exchanges with Sister Towers and Prince. I went to Sister Prince's area and Sister Jacobson stayed here at ISU. While I was with Sister Prince, we learned a lot together. I was able to help her gain more confidence in herself as a teacher and as a trainer. She has such an incredible testimony. When she let's it shine through, there is no stopping! We set a goal to invite one person to be baptized. Our plans were to contact many people in their area that they had tried before but were not home. Well, when we went by, no one was home then either. We were able to get some referrals from members we met though!

We had done some role plays that morning to practice being more comfortable with street contacting. It came in handy the last couple minutes of our exchange! We were driving back to the house and about to get out of the car when three teenagers come walking down the street. I was like, "Sister, Sister, it's time! Let's go!" SO we hop out of the car and start up a conversation with them. We get their names and they tell us a little about themselves (none are members). Then we pull out our Books of Mormon and invite one of the boys to read the last two paragraphs of the introduction. He does so and we proceed to testify of the truthfulness of the book and the restored gospel. We invited them to read the book, giving them each a copy, and to pray about it themselves. We then invited them to be baptized when they come to know the church is true. They said they would! Sister Prince then asks them if we can meet again and discuss more. They accepted and they gave us their phone numbers.

In the last moment of the day, the Lord provided us with someone to teach and testify to. He knew the desires of our hearts. He knew we were trying our hardest and he placed these kids in our path. He loves us so much, it's beautiful!

When we exchanged back, we discussed things we each learned. Something I really have come to identify is where I stand in my Heavenly Father's eyes. Each night when I review my day with the Lord, I feel either satisfied with my efforts, knowing I gave it my all, or I feel a little down because I know I passed up an opportunity. When I go to the Lord in prayer, I feel such love and understanding from him. I know that His perspective of me is all that matters and He is the only one I need to please. He knows me better than anyone else!

I was nervous to go on my first exchange and to train a sister. Now I realize that I learned just as much as I was able to teach her. I am looking forward to exchanging with other sisters and learning new areas as I do so. I am grateful for this calling as a sister training leader. It is helping me grow so much.

I know my Savior lives. I feel his atonement working within me as I change and strive to do better. This gospel is true and it changes lives, especially mine.

Love,

Sister Fredrick
