Familia y Amigos

Familia y Amigos,

This has been quite the goal setting week. Sister Jorgensen and I, during weekly planning, discussed all of our investigators and prayed to know who we need to focus on and what we need to do to get them progressing towards baptism. We put names to all of our numbers and when we counted our numbers up, they were a unusually high. BUT, we know that we thought through each of them and sought the Lord's guidance as we planned, so we believe and know that we can achieve these high goals.
I guess you could say our investigators were kind of in a slump. Two lessons we had this week were amazing. One with a student on campus and one with a man in our family stake. Since I have been teaching them, I have not seen much progression. Sister Jorgensen and I have been praying long and hard about what these investigators need to hear to commit to baptism. In our lessons, the spirit was so eminent. We had prayed about extending a specific date for these two investigators. James, who is the student who has been taking lessons for two years, Responded very positively and said that he would pray and really think about it. This lesson was lead by the spirit, I know it. I could feel it so strongly.

Levi, our investigator who is married to an active member and his father-in-law is the bishop, has been taking the lessons for about 8 months. He has a smoking habit, but nothing that he cannot overcome because he has overcome many more harmful addictions in the past. We discussed this holdup for him being baptized, this being the only holdup. We helped him, or the spirit helped him, come to the realization that it is time to kick the habit and take the next step. We invited him to be baptized on March 29th, which so happens to be his wife's birthday and the day she was baptized. Coincidence? I THINK NOT. His and her face lit up when we said that date and he accepted to pray about it.

Oh how the miracles come when we are seeking the Lord's will in all we do. Sister Jorgensen extended both of these baptismal dates and spoke with such a strong spirit in these lessons and this whole week. I have truly enjoyed serving with her and seeing her progress so much already. I think one thing that has made our companionship relationship grow stronger each and every day is our prayers together at night. We take turns saying them each night. We pray for each other, we pray for each other's families, we pray to grow stronger together, and we pray for the guidance of the spirit as we teach our investigators. I can feel her love for me and our Savior and Heavenly Father as she prays. We have learned and grown together and I believe it is bringing results. We make one great companionship, I'd say!

I had something interesting for dinner this week...moose azzue, or however you spell it. It was SO good. Most exotic thing so far for sure.

So Jun, student from Korea who got baptized last week, taught mission prep this Sunday! Talk about making a missionary proud. I felt like he was my baby and he is learning on his own now, creepy I know but it's true. Such a fulfilling feeling.

We had an awesome church tour with two foreign exchange students. One is from Thailand and is Buddhist. The other is from Korea and is Christian. They were so intrigued and asked so many questions. They are not interested in joining the church, but that seed is firmly planted:)

I love you guys so much. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ so much. I know it is true and it brings true happiness.
