Sister "Frederer"

I had SUCH A FUN AND AWESOME WEEK! We got to volunteer at the Color Run here in Pocatello and throw chalk and direct traffic! It was super fun. Somehow everyone has found out that President and i played tennis a few weeks ago and now have been challenging me to play. So we tried it out last Monday and ummm no one else has played hahaha. It was fun though. Felt good to play! We taught tons of lessons and witnessed a wonderful baptism. What is really cool is the girl who got baptized, Jaquie, who is mentioned in my letter to President, we met about 5 weeks ago. We had dinner with her and her friend Kyle in our ward. We shared with her the importance of reading and praying about the Book of Mormon because she did not have faith in anything. We found that she would be taught by the Elders because of where she lived so we asked if we could get her information and refer her on to them. She gave us her information and about a week later the elders and she met. Every lesson up to her baptism the elders were filling us in on how she was doing and how she was changing so much. Saturday, at the baptism, she bore her testimony. Now, if you spoke to Jaquie when we spoke to her 5 weeks ago, you would never imagine her to be bearing her testimony at her own baptism. She said she was able to change and recieve answers when she opened up her heart. That's what it took. A mighty change of heart. I was crying, to say the least. The spirit was amazing AND we had two investigators come to the baptism with us. We then were able to take these two investigators on a church tour with our stake president right after. These two investigators are moving out of our mission in a week but we'll refer them on!

I love this area. I love ISU and the members who are such a great support! I couldn't ask for a better group of individuals to work along side. I'M SO BLESSED. Sister Brinkerhoff is taking Sister Jacobson and i out for lunch for my Birthday. I got the package from Walmart :) Sister Jacobson describes our cub-bards as "hippie status" because all we have are nuts and dried fruit. IT'S AWESOME. Thank you so much! I couldn't ask for anything better!

LOVEY DOVE DOVE,
"Sister Frederer"- as some missionaries call me now after playing tennis :)

President,

I just want to tell you about a really cool experience we had yesterday. So you know Jaquie England who was baptized on Saturday? Well, last night our wards had a dinner and indexing party and she came. not only was Jaquie there, but her sister Stephanie was there as well. We got to talk to them a bit about how they were feeling and their family experiences lately. We left the conversation to get some food and Kyle, Jaquie's friend in our ward, comes and tells us that Stephanie is not a member and he just challenged her to start taking the lessons and beat Jaquie's time for baptism by being baptized in 7 weeks instead of 8 like Jaquie. He said he challenged her in a joking manner but that she accepted!
We went back over and talked to them some more and asked if we could teach her a lesson. She excitedly said yes. We took two members with us, Jaquie, and Stephanie to the library where we could have a quiet, peaceful setting. We started with doing 'how to begin teaching' and found out that she goes to Utah State, has tons of LDS friends, was raised Nazarene, believes in the Bible, and LOVED the baptism and confirmation. She said she could feel the spirit like she had never before.

As we taught the Restoration, Kyle, Shelly, and Jaquie bore such strong testimony of different principles. When we shared the First Vision, Stephanie's eyes were hooked in and we asked her how she felt as we had said Joseph's experience in his own words. She told us that she had taken seminary for fun in high school and had heard the story, but had never heard it with such passion.

Jaquie shared her testimony of having to have an open heart to receive an answer. She told Stephanie how the Elders set a date on their first lesson as a goal. We followed up with that by extending a date to her for a goal. We set the date as September 5th. She committed to read the book of Mormon every day and to meet with the missionaries when she gets home to Logan. After the lesson we got on Mormon.org and she referred herself to the missionaries in Logan.

We then realized that Sister Jacobson will be home and in Utah when Stephanie has set her goal to be baptized. They swapped information and she'll be able to make it.

We then went to the car and called Elder Soren and Bebe. We let them know what happened and Jaquie and Stephanie left a voice mail with us about what happened. It was so much fun! Families again! Even though we don't get to teach her anymore, the missionaries will take good care of her in Logan. We have been referring a lot of investigators on lately. Jaquie was even a referral from us to the elders. Though it might be a little frustrating at first, I know that it's all the same work!

We are managing to teach tons of lessons and find tons of potential. We're trying to get them progressing! We'll keep on!

Love,
Sister Fredrick
