We found three new investigators this week! Guess where two of the three came from? Recent converts! Sangam is from Nepal and is friends with Tejashwini who got baptized last month. She invited him to church and the lesson that she helped teach in gospel principles. He then came to one of our baptisms and we invited him to learn more from us and he happily accepted. We had a lesson fully focused on the basics of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. He felt the Holy Ghost very strongly in the lesson and we helped him recognize it. We closed by teaching him how to pray and he said the kneeling, closing prayer with so much love and care.
Another new investigator is friends with all of our recently joined members in the 7th ward. She was roommates with Marisa and was invited to Family Home Evening with the ward. We had a lesson after with one of our investigators and he invited her come. She had tons of questions so we set up another time to meet. She is home this whole break but is reading the Book of Mormon.
The last new investigator that we found was a miracle in and of itself. We've been lacking when filling up our bucket of "personal finding" so Monday night for 45 mins we went on splits to find! I went to contact a less-active referral with a non-member girlfriend and we get out of the car and see this girl who is standing out in the cold by herself. We were about to walk right by her when I got the impression to stop and talk to her. We ended up talking to her for about 20 minutes. She told us that her mom was baptized about a year ago and that she was Methodist. We invited her to learn more and she accepted. We've taught her about 5 times since then and she has a baptism date for mid-December. And here's the kick, the building that we were at to contact the less-active with a non-member girlfriend wasn't even the right one. We were lead to meet Whitney by the spirit!
I love what's been going on here! Transfers are coming up and I'm totally okay to stay here longer. I've been here for 8 months, might as well stay the rest of my mission, right? :)
These next few weeks will be interesting because all of the students will be gone for break, but we will just have to pull out the ping-pong paddles again and work our magic with finding!
Thanks for everything President!
Love,
Sister Fredrick
