The Spirit of CHRISTmas

Family and Friends,

This week was filled with the Spirit of Christ. What kicked it off was Christmas Zone Conference. All the trainings and discussions were based on the new 'He is the Gift' initiative. I was able to be part of the musical program, too. Yes, this is Sister Fredrick typing. Believe it or not, I volunteered and LOVED it. I've come to the conclusion that if I'm singing in praises to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, then I should gladly join in!

For the past two months or so, the sisters in the mission have been memorizing The Living Christ to recite for President Brinkerhoff at Zone Conference. I was nervous building up to the time we would present our gift. I did not think I would be able to memorize something so long, but oh boy was I given help from on high. As we stood in the front of the chapel, about 30 sisters, and recited the beautiful testimony of our prophet and apostles, the spirit filled my heart in a way I've never felt it before. President and Sister Brinkerhoff were in tears as they watched us, their mission-daughters, speak in unison the powerful words of Christ. I know my Savior Jesus Christ more personally now.

Friday I went on exchanges with two sisters who just white-washed their area. One sister is brand new out. As we spent time together, I reflected on my first few weeks in Idaho. I felt the zeal and strength of her testimony as we shared the Christmas message with several people. We enthusiastically and confidently stood on several people's door steps. One Muslim, one Catholic, and one Methodist...the variety of backgrounds here is puzzling sometimes. But each of these people, though so different, had heard of Jesus Christ.

Sometimes we think that sharing the message of Jesus Christ is foreign and uncomfortable, but it's really not. Everyone has heard of Jesus Christ! Especially here in America. Let's all share what we love so much this year as a gift back to our Father in Heaven who sent his son to save us! John 3:16-17.

Last night the Nashville Tribute Band came and performed at the institute. No less than 500 people were in attendance. They performed their new album, Redeemer, which goes through the life of Christ through other Biblical people's perspectives. We had two investigators come, one being from Nepal. He doesn't know much about Jesus Christ, but he know he is important. Last night was very good for him. I could see the happiness in his eyes as the music played. Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of the world. He didn't just atone for the sins of the American people, but all who have ever lived and will yet live. This message top all. If you don't agree, take it to prayer.

The concert was a blast though! They invited us missionaries to join them in their pre-performance prayer and message. They then got to know us a little but. Once they got up on stage they started talking about why they are doing what they are. The main guy is from the band Diamond Rio. They each have strong and powerful testimonies that they bore through their music. Oh and they even gave me a shout out, "a sister missionary from Birmingham, Alabama where they've performed". It was a great night, a little out of the usual missionary activity, but very spiritually uplifting. I encourage you all to get the CD!

Christmas and New Years is around the corner, can't wait to see what's in store. Keep sharing the message of Christ through your words, but most importantly your actions.

Love,
Sister Fredrick
