-Sister Shumate was transferred to Idaho Falls. I've learned boat-loads from her. 4 1/2 months together, I better have! She goes home in 3 months so she was called back to the visitors center where she was originally called. Much of what I learned from her was humility and positivity. We kinda-ish didn't connect the first 2 transfers together. Humility, it was all humility. We had a break down, lets grow up and get on with life talk and the last transfer we had together we blew our limits out of the water. We created a family here. Needless to say, I miss her, but maybe I can visit her in Germany? Deal.
-Sister Hill is my new companion! She's 23. Been out for 6 months, from Texas, RN, and a boss at cleaning and staying organized. I love her! Can't wait to see what comes of our companionship. Two southern sisters tearin' it up in Idaho.
-Fast and testimony meeting is always something to write home about. Harley, Nessa, Marisa, and Sam all bore their testimonies! Nothing makes me more proud than to see the strength of our recent-converts testimonies. And here's the catch...Marisa even invited a non-member friend who might be interested in learning more now!
President,
Got to love transfers! The last few days with Sister Shumate were filled with miracles. So since I've stayed in the area for quite some time now, I've found some tricks to the trade. When my companion is leaving, we text all of our former investigators saying, "Sister so and so is leaving the area. We loved teaching you and we would like to teach you one last time before she leaves. Can we meet sometime this week?" Through this, we were able to get back in touch with Jerika. She was excited to see us and even brought us Christmas presents. We caught up on what she's been doing since the last time we met (4 months ago). In that time, she's read from the beginning of the Book of Mormon to Jacob. WHAT?! She had a date and was eager to learn, but the idea of commitment scares her. We told her that we wouldn't pressure her into doing anything she didn't want to, but that we could continue to meet and read the Book of Mormon with her. We did tell her that she would come to want to be baptized the more she learned and when she has a testimony of the restored gospel, that's what she should do. She agreed and is excited to learn more. I miss Sister Shumate, but she's off doing great things in Idaho Falls. I am super grateful for the four and a half months we had together.
Sister Hill is bomb! I realized that she came into this area and became a Sister Training Leader the exact same time I did. The wards and investigators are already loving her. We bore our testimonies in our three wards yesterday and we joked about them having to put up with two southern sisters. Our personalities are quite similar. I admire her ability to hit the ground running. With her past experiences in areas, she's got to be!
I'm excited for zone conference tomorrow. Thanks for all of your preparations!
Love,
Sister Fredrick
