Super short email because we've got many errands to run before Sister O goes HOME! That's right, she flies out tomorrow. Wow, have these short 6-weeks been amazing with her. She's taught me how to focus on my goals more and reach them at all costs. She will be a blessing to the people she returns to in Hawaii.
Great, great week. Sister O and I were asked to organize a missionary fireside for all of Pocatello, Blackfoot, and surrounding areas. We prayed and discussed a good theme for our investigators, and those of all the missionaries. We were inspired to title the fireside: "The Gospel of Jesus Christ-A Way of Life." We arranged for three recently converted members to speak on principles of the gospel. We called Whitney Hill, asking her to speak on faith, Emily Ayre on Baptism, and Brother Marshall on enduring to the end because he and his family are being sealed in a month. Oh how the testimonies of recent converts are so strong! We had a musical number, "Savior, Redeemer of my Soul." And we showed the "Patterns of Light" clips from Elder Bednar. There were 80+ in attendance. Many investigators with their missionaries. We couldn't have asked for a better night to close Sister O's mission.
So, with Sister O leaving...this means I will need a new companion! Drum roll.....I actually got to hand-pick her!....Sister Warren! I have never met her personally, but I have heard nothing but great things. She has been out for about a year and this will be her first time serving as a Sister Training Leader. I cannot wait to see what is in store for these up and coming months with her.
Also big news, we have been covering half of the Highland stake and the Highland YSA ward... starting Wednesday we will be covering the whole stake and the YSA ward. 13 wards! This is HUGE undertaking. President prepped me for this change a few weeks ago, but it wasn't set in stone until they held their transfer meetings. This stake used to be split between three companionships. I am honored that President trust me with this, and with training a new Sister Training Leader, but boy is it a lot to comprehend. I plan to focus on building a solid foundation with our leaders and working with the members to make the conversion of others most effective. Cannot wait to meet the new bishops and Ward Mission Leaders. Also, the new Investigators!
Can't wait to tell you next week how the transition is going. Keep being amazing!
Love,
Sister Fredrick
