Love and Admiration

My email below to President sums up a lot of the week. Tamen was confirmed on Sunday. His hives have all gone away and is back to normal. His non-member parents came to his confirmation and stayed for all of sacrament. His mom was crying the whole time. We talked with her after and she said she felt the spirit strong.

We will get some Elders over at their house hopefully soon! Tejashwini is getting baptized on Friday. Her brother, who joined the church four years ago at BYUI, is coming to baptize her! They are from Nepal and we're hoping the parents will get to learn about the gospel too!

Special requests: Dried mangos, kasha granola bars, banana chips, peanut butter, anything that is special to the south that I couldn't find here :) oh and hugs and kisses.

I love you guys so much and hope you have an awesome spirit-lead week!

Love,
Sister Fredrick

President,

I felt a personal rejuvenation of spirit coming out of Mission Leadership Council Friday. With the assistant's trainings on charity, what more can I do?, and yours on Asking and Knocking, I felt my personal, leadership, and area questions were answered.

I have to admit, prayer has the tendency to become rote and less heart-felt and meaningful every now and then.

Something in preach my gospel that stood out to me in our spiritual preparation was on page 39 and says, "No one can know of spiritual truths without prayer." I took this to heart. I cannot receive spiritual truths for myself or my investigators if I am not praying. So it's not like I don't pray, but I needed to hear this. I needed to understand that it is absolutely not something that can come without conversing with the Lord. I did, as well, realize that those I'm teaching need to know how to pray right from the start. This should be something that we teach right away and consistently follow-up with or else they will not progress. Thank you for instructing us on this simple, but crucial commandment of the Lord.

I love you President! Your dedication to the Lord's work is highly admirable and don't take this in a weird or odd way, but I do study the way you and Sister Brinkerhoff interact. I study this because I seek to have a Christ-centered and loving relationship like you two have in the future. It's beautiful. Sister Brinkerhoff is an amazing woman. Oh, and a good driving instructor :) Keep being an awesome Mission President and father figure to me!

Love & Admiration,
Sister Fredrick
