Ward "Match-Makers"

I SURVIVED ANOTHER TRANSFER. Sister Shumate and I will be here another 7 weeks together. That means by the end of the transfer, I'll have been in this area for 7 1/2 months. WHOAAAAA. I can't get over this area. Members are on fire, investigators are growing stronger, and the sisters we serve with are continuing to teach me. I don't know how long I'll be here, but I must say that YSA work is the best.

Marisa is getting baptized this weekend! We've been teaching her for about 2 months. The ward is excited and the program should be a super spiritually strong and uplifting experience! I'll tell you about it next week.

It's just sosososos funny working in YSA! We get the back stories of everyone....and a couple of couples have gotten together because of teaching appointments we've invited both of them to. Sister Shumate and I consider our side job to be "ward match-makers". Perks of YSA ;)

President,

I want to talk about how amazing this Sunday was. Our investigator, Teja, was confirmed. She was sitting in between Sister Shumate and I and leaned over to me and whispered, "I'm so nervous!" I told her that it would all be amazing and there was no need to be nervous. She went up and was confirmed by her fellow shipper who she has grown very close to. The confirmation prayer was beautiful. Teja was then asked to bare her testimony to the congregation. She bore testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel and her love for Jesus Christ. She thanked everyone and Heavenly Father for helping her get on the right path. She bore testimony of prayer and of her love for her family.

After bearing her heart-felt testimony, she came back and sat down by us. She whispered in my ear again, "Was that okay? Did I say the right thing? I feel so good!" I told her that it was the best ever because it was from her heart.

The Fast and Testimony meeting proceeded with many beautiful testimonies. Each and every person made mention of the impact Teja's baptism and confirmation made on them. One person in particular mentioned how because Teja had asked him to be in her confirmation circle, He was able to fight his depression and see the Lord's hand in his life through many small and simple miracles that morning. This testimony made Teja cry and I also think it made Teja see how she can impact others in ways unseen! In her confirmation, Ben told her that she would be a blessing and a missionary to those around her, family and friends. Ding Ding Ding!

Our sisters are awesome. We make contact at least once a week with them over the phone. They are telling us their goals and aspirations. I love seeing their improvements!

I'm so excited to stay here for another transfer! Sister Shumate and I are ready to tear it up!

Love,
Sister Fredrick
